An inspiring thought.

I am a work in progress, so I have to work hard on myself.

Hashem wants me to improve myself, now is the time to do it.

New Dvar Torah from a Phone Call

Heard on a phone call with Chaya in Monsey:

Why do we use silver for Kiddush Cups instead of Gold? Because silver needs to be polished to be beautiful and we want to remember that a Jew always has to polish his/her self and improve. We can never rest in one place.

We do our Histadlas, but abstinence is a gift from Hashem.

Before you eat that Donut-

Great Quote from a Meeting

You can take a cucumber and turn it into a pickle, but you can not turn a pickle into a cucumber.

Maybe you were a normal eater at one time, but now that you are a compulsive eater you can never go back to being a normal eater.

Dvar Torah from Tonights Meeting 12/2/09

The Iggeres HaRamban says:
"Review your actions in the morning and in the evening, and in this way all your days will contain repentance."

The Tenth Step Says (L'Havdil):
Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.

Every meal when we sit down to eat we should review what we did that day from the last meal until this one and we will be doing Teshuva on a constant basis.

I took this picture at the top of Bear Mountain with my cell phone.

D'var Torah from a meeting

In a meeting tonight someone shared with us:

Hashem told us that he is giving us the choice between good and bad, between life and death, and that we should choose life.

For us choosing life means giving up compulsive eating. We are "killing ourselves with food" and it is time for us to choose life, and stop compulsive eating.
